Supporting Rainbows Rainbows Hospice

Saturday the 16th June 2012

The James Barney Foundation is a Christian relief and development organisation that was established in the memory of James Barney after he was involved in a tragic accident. James was a 16 year old boy with an amazing passion for life and love for others. Having a troubled life growing up like many children and young adults today, we felt that we wanted to help and support others in similar situations and with difficulties in their lives.

The James Barney Foundation has so far helped to build a children’s school in Africa, helped towards the upgrading and buying of equipment for children’s orphanages in Mexico and India, helped in the support with Alternatives of Stamford and supported the James Barney Day Care Centre in Melton Mowbray.

Starting this, our first JBF Summer Ball supporting the Rainbows Hospice in Loughborough has let us reflect on the incredible progress we have made so far and also for us to look at our future – a future helping children and young adults.

As we promised, all our guests for the first JBF Summer Ball enjoyed a special evening. Hosted by Mr. Bobby Davro and Mr. Anthony Barney at the Ballroom of the Haycock Hotel in Wansford, Cambridgeshire, the event raised in excess of £30,000 on the night. This has allowed the foundation to help and improve the lives of so many children.

We are indebted to our wonderful sponsors who helped cover so much of the initial event costs, enabling every penny made on the night to go towards our continuing work. This our first years event was sponsored by Atlas Leisure Homes, supported by Hacking Ashton solicitors and Omar Park Homes and our media sponsor Tank PR.
